Pearl Canter & Sterrenberg-Rose, LLC, formerly known as Duff, Larson & Pearl, LLC, is a small AV rated law firm in downtown Denver, Colorado, primarily involved in representing individuals, businesses, and insurance companies in both the defense of civil lawsuits (e.g., construction defect, personal injury, and commercial litigation) and in connection with insurance coverage and bad faith matters (e.g., the prosecution and defense of declaratory judgment actions). The firm's focus is on obtaining the best possible result for its clients, whether that resolution is reached through negotiated settlement, arbitration, or trial.
Nancy Pearl, David Canter and Marilyn Sterrenberg-Rose are the firm members. Ms. Pearl and Ms. Sterrenberg-Rose began their legal careers at a large insurance defense firm in Denver. It was there that Ms. Pearl gained her experience as a trial attorney. She later moved on to a smaller insurance defense firm (primarily involving aviation and professional liability cases), before ultimately venturing out into her own law practice. Ms. Sterrenberg-Rose has practiced law for 24 years, and has focused her practice exclusively on insurance coverage-related matters for the last 22 years. Mr. Canter practiced law in California for thirteen years before moving to Colorado in 2002. A member of both the Colorado and California bars, Mr. Canter has extensive civil litigation and trial experience in both the defense and prosecution of personal injury claims.
The firm attorneys utilize their backgrounds and experience to maximize economically efficient results for their clients. Each attorney has extensive experience in resolving cases through the alternative dispute resolution mechanisms of mediation and arbitration. When those alternatives are not appropriate or desirable, attorneys within the firm have the trial experience and ability to successfully advocate their client's position to either a judge or a jury.
As "hands-on" attorneys, the senior members typically handle all cases from the initial client interview through final resolution. However, the firm also recognizes the importance of delegating certain matters to qualified associates. The firm also employs paralegals, who assist the attorneys in handling their cases.
